Reporting a player
How to write a report that actually gets acted on.
Do it afterwards, not during
Do not stop a live scene to argue about rules. Finish the scene in character, then open a Player Report. See rule 8.1.
What makes a report work
The form asks for the things staff need. Answer all of them properly:
- Who — their character name, or their server ID if you caught it.
- When — a rough time is enough for staff to find the logs, but the closer the better.
- Which rule — pick the closest one. If you are unsure, pick the nearest and explain in the details.
- What happened — from the start, in order, including your own part in it.
- Evidence — a link to a clip. See capturing evidence.
Be honest about your own conduct
If you contributed to what happened, say so. Staff will find it anyway, and a report that hides the reporter's part in it tends to end badly for both people.
What you will and will not be told
You will be told that the report was dealt with. You will not be told what punishment the other person received — that is between them and staff, exactly as yours would be.
Reports about cheating are the highest priority thing in the queue. If you genuinely believe someone is cheating, say so clearly in the first line.
