Rules

Every rule has a number. When staff act on one they will quote it, and you can link straight to it — so nobody has to argue about what was actually written.

Draft. These rules are a starting set and have not been signed off by staff yet. They are not being enforced as written.

1. The basics

These apply everywhere — in the city, on this site, and in our Discord. Breaking one of these is the fastest way to lose access.

1.1Treat people like people

Out-of-character harassment, hate speech, slurs, threats, and sexual content involving minors are never in character and are never tolerated. This ends in a permanent ban with no appeal.

A character can be a bigot in a story you have both agreed to. A player cannot use a character as cover for abusing a real person.

1.2Keep it in character

Stay in character while you are connected. If you need to break character, use /ooc sparingly, or open a report. Repeatedly dropping character in a live scene ruins it for everyone in it.

1.3One identity

Do not share, sell, or buy accounts. Do not join on an alt to dodge a punishment, a roleplay consequence, or a queue. Everything you own is tied to the account that earned it.

1.4Age requirement

You must be 16 or over to play here. If you are found to be under age, your access is removed until you are old enough — this is not a punishment and it is not negotiable.

1.5Do not advertise

Do not recruit for other servers or communities in the city, in our Discord, or in DMs to our members.

2. Roleplay standards

The whole point is a believable city. These rules exist to protect other people's stories, not to police your fun.

2.1Value your life

Your character wants to live. With a gun to your head, outnumbered, or cornered, act like someone who is genuinely afraid — comply, negotiate, or run if running is realistic. Fighting back purely because you would rather respawn than lose is fail RP.

2.2No metagaming

Do not use information your character has no way of knowing. Streams, Discord calls, a friend's screen, a previous life, and this website are all out-of-character sources.

If you learn something out of character, your character does not know it. Act accordingly.

2.3No powergaming

Do not force outcomes on other people. Your emotes describe what you attempt, not what lands. Do not perform actions your character realistically cannot do, and do not use game mechanics to escape a scene the story has not resolved.

2.4New Life Rule

If you die and respawn, your character does not remember how they died or who did it, and does not return to that area or that conflict for 30 minutes.

If you were downed and revived by another player or by EMS, you keep your memory — you were never dead.

2.5Do not force roleplay on unwilling players

Heavy themes — torture, kidnapping over long periods, anything sexual — need clear out-of-character agreement from everyone involved before they start. Anyone can withdraw consent at any time by saying so out of character, and that is the end of it.

2.6Stay in the world

Do not use out-of-character terms in character. No talking about scripts, resources, restarts, tickets, or staff in your character's voice — bring it to a ticket instead.

2.7Do not exploit the restart

Do not start or continue major scenes in the fifteen minutes before a scheduled restart, and do not disconnect to escape a scene. If a restart interrupts a scene, both sides pick it up where it left off or agree to drop it.

3. Violence and conflict

Violence is allowed and encouraged — as a consequence of a story, not as the story itself.

3.1No random deathmatch (RDM)

Do not kill or attack someone without roleplay leading to it. There must be a reason your character would use lethal force, and the other player must have had a chance to understand why it is happening.

3.2No random vehicle deathmatch (VDM)

A car is not a weapon of convenience. Do not run people over as an opening move, do not repeatedly ram to kill, and do not use a vehicle to end a scene you are losing.

3.3Initiation

Before shooting, give a clear, realistic demand the other side can actually hear and act on — in voice range, or over a radio if the story supports it.

Initiation covers the people it was aimed at, for as long as that conflict is live. It does not cover everyone standing nearby.

3.4No combat logging

Do not disconnect during or immediately after a scene involving you — a fight, an arrest, a robbery, a traffic stop. If you crash, reconnect and return to the scene, and tell the other party what happened.

3.5No spawn or hospital camping

Do not wait at hospitals, respawn points, or police stations to attack people who have just come back. Let the New Life Rule do its job.

3.6No safe-zone violence

No hostile action inside marked safe zones — hospital interiors, police station interiors, and the character spawn area. Do not run into a safe zone to escape a fight either; that is a form of fail RP.

3.7Reviving does not restart the fight

If you are revived on the scene, you do not immediately re-enter the fight you just lost. Take the loss, treat the injury, and let it lead somewhere.

3.8Agreed fights are the exception

A match booked through the Fight Club app is consent, given by both fighters, to a straight one-on-one at the meetup. Inside that fight the booking *is* the initiation, and losing is not something to report.

Everything outside it is unchanged. The wager does not license you to hunt your opponent afterwards, anyone who joins in is committing RDM, and walking away from the ring ends the agreement.

4. Crime

Crime is a career here, with real rewards and real risk. These limits keep it a story rather than a queue of muggings.

4.1Group size

No more than 6 players may take part in a single criminal operation — a robbery, a heist, a hit, or an ambush. Groups may not stack multiple crews on the same job to get around this.

4.2Give police a chance

Major crime needs police online to be worth doing. Do not start bank robberies, store robberies, or kidnappings when there are too few officers on duty to respond — check before you commit.

4.3Robbery limits

Do not rob someone who has just spawned, is clearly new, or has nothing worth taking. Do not rob the same player or the same location repeatedly — leave at least 30 minutes between hits on the same target.

4.4Hostages

A hostage must be a willing participant in the scene, and must be treated as a person with a story rather than a shield. Do not take hostages purely to farm a negotiation, and never hold one for longer than the scene can sustain.

4.5No cop baiting

Do not commit crime purely to trigger a police chase with no story behind it. Officers are players spending their evening on this too.

4.6Stolen goods and money stay in character

Anything you take in a robbery belongs to that story. Do not transfer it out to an unrelated character, and do not use out-of-character coordination to move it somewhere it cannot be traced.

4.7Turf, factions and the Kingpin

Territory changes hands through the system. Losing a block, being taxed by the Kingpin, or being pushed out of a trade you used to run is the game working — it is not a report.

What is not allowed: stacking crews past the limit in 4.1 to hold a zone, feeding a rival faction information through a second character, or opening a war on a faction your character has no reason to be at war with. A gang war needs a beginning both sides can point to.

4.8The organ trade

Selling a kidney because your character is desperate is a story. Farming downed strangers for organs is not — an unconscious player is a person in a scene, not a resource node.

The surgery itself is not a licence for anything else. Torture, sexual content, or gore aimed at making a real person uncomfortable falls under 2.5, and anyone who says out of character that they want out of the scene gets out, immediately and without argument.

4.9Covering your tracks is fair play

Cleaning blood, wiping prints, burning a vehicle, and laundering what you earned are all legitimate crime. Losing a case because the other side cleaned up properly is not a report — it is the point.

The line is the same as everywhere else: do it in character, in the world, using what the city gives you.

5. Emergency services and government

Whitelisted roles carry extra responsibility, because their mistakes shape everyone else's night.

5.1Corruption needs approval

Corrupt police, EMS, or government roleplay must be agreed with the relevant department leadership beforehand. Unapproved corruption is treated as an abuse of a whitelisted role.

5.2EMS are neutral

Do not attack, rob, or take medics hostage while they are treating a patient. Medics in turn do not carry weapons, do not take sides in a fight, and do not relay what they see to police unless their character genuinely would.

5.3Police act like police

Officers follow their department's procedure — identify, warn, escalate. Lethal force is a last resort, and every arrest needs a charge you could justify in court.

5.4Do not impersonate emergency services

Do not wear police or EMS uniform, use their vehicles, or claim their authority without a story that the department has agreed to.

5.5Off-duty means off-duty

Do not use knowledge, equipment, or vehicles from a whitelisted job while playing a character who is off duty or is a different person entirely.

5.6Automated medics are a fallback

When no medic is on duty, the city's automated response will get you back on your feet. It exists so a quiet night does not end with you on the floor for an hour.

It is not a shortcut. Do not call it while real medics are on duty and able to reach you, do not bleed out deliberately to skip a treatment scene, and do not use it to leave a scene where someone is still standing over you.

6. Cheating, exploits and modifications

This section is where we have the least patience. Almost everything here is a straight permanent ban.

6.1No cheats, menus or injectors

Any modification that gives you abilities the server did not give you — menus, aimbots, ESP, trainers, injectors, packet tools — is a permanent ban on first offence. Having it installed but unused is still a ban.

6.2Report exploits, do not use them

If you find a bug that duplicates money or items, teleports you, or bypasses a script, stop using it and open a Bug Report immediately. Reporting an exploit you could have farmed is rewarded. Farming one and getting caught is not.

6.3Approved modifications only

Graphics packs, reshades, and audio replacements are fine. Anything that changes hitboxes, removes visual obstruction, reveals other players, or automates input is not.

6.4No macros for game actions

Do not bind scripts or macros that perform in-game actions for you, including repeated crafting, farming, or fishing while you are away from the keyboard.

6.5Do not attack the infrastructure

Any attempt to attack, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the server, this website, or our Discord is a permanent ban and, where it applies, a matter for the police — the real ones.

7. Characters, assets and money

7.1Your characters are separate people

Do not move money, items, vehicles or information between your own characters. Each one lives their own life and knows only what they have learned.

7.2Realistic names

Character names must be plausible for the setting. No celebrities, no joke names, no single names, no names designed to be disruptive when a medic reads them out.

7.3No real-money trading

Do not buy or sell in-game money, items, vehicles, properties or characters for real currency, on any platform. Both sides are permanently banned.

7.4Donations buy convenience, never advantage

Priority shortens your wait in the queue. It does not buy items, money, immunity from rules, or a different standard of treatment in a ticket.

7.5Assets can be lost

Anything your character owns can be stolen, seized, or destroyed through legitimate roleplay. That is the game working, not a bug, and it is not automatically refundable.

8. Staff, tickets and punishments

8.1Report it here, not in chat

Do not argue about rules in character, in global chat, or in Discord. Open a Player Report with as much detail as you can, and let it be handled properly.

8.2Evidence wins reports

Clips are not required, but a report with video is resolved far faster and far more often. Keep your recording software running — see capturing evidence.

8.3One ticket per issue

Do not open several tickets about the same thing, and do not DM staff to chase one. Everything is tracked and nothing is lost.

8.4Staff decisions are final at the time

Follow a staff instruction in the moment even if you disagree with it. If you think it was wrong, appeal it afterwards — that is what appeals are for.

8.5Do not lie in a ticket

Staff can see the logs. Being honest about something you did wrong will nearly always cost you less than being caught lying about it.

8.6Punishments escalate

Most breaches start as a warning and escalate through temporary bans to a permanent one. Cheating, real-money trading, and abuse of real people skip straight to the end.

8.7Ban evasion resets everything

Joining on another account or identity while banned converts any temporary ban into a permanent one.

9. Court and custody

The city has a working Crown Court. If your character is charged, this is the part of the story where they answer for it.

9.1Court runs in character

Proceedings are roleplay from the moment they open. Address the bench properly, argue the case your character would argue, and take the verdict in character.

If something goes wrong out of character — a bug, a rule breach, a staff matter — it does not get raised in the courtroom. Finish the hearing, then open a ticket.

9.2Turn up, or send someone who will

If your case is listed and you are in the city, attend it or instruct a solicitor to attend for you. Repeatedly avoiding a hearing to dodge a sentence is fail RP, and the court can proceed without you.

9.3Represent your client properly

Taking a client and then throwing their case for a laugh is an abuse of the role, the same as any other whitelisted position. Losing honestly is fine — a solicitor who loses is still doing the job.

9.4Serve the sentence

Do not disconnect to shorten custody, and do not ask staff to overturn a sentence in a ticket. A verdict you think is wrong is appealed in court, which is exactly what the appeals process is there for.

Staff only step in when a real rule was broken. A judge being harsh is not one.

Think a rule was applied wrongly? Do not argue it in chat — open a ban appeal or a support ticket.
